LASOYA FIGHTS IN TRIB FINALS
Welty Decisioned In Final Round

Ike Lasoya, 118-pound Maquoketa Golden Gloves fighter, drew a bye in the opening round in Chicago this week and advanced to the final round by outslugging Ted Barker, Columbus, Ohio, negro, in the second round of fighting. Baker, down for the count of nine in the final round, was saved from a KO by the bell. Lasoya came through on Wednesday night with a decision and as a result will return to Chicago next month when the tournament finals get underway.

Roger Welty, 134-pounder from Maquoketa, advanced to the second round as a result of a bye and was decisioned in his final fight Wednesday, it was reported here today.
