ORPHANS TO ARRIVE IN MAQUOKETA
There will arrive in this city April 28, 1876, a company of boys from the Children’s Aid Society of New York. They will be brought here under charge of C. R. Fry, and for the purpose of distributing them among farmers and others who will give them employment and homes.
B. A. Spencer, T. E. Cannell and F.W. Crane are a committee to receive names of any who shall desire to take the orphans, so that the agent may know that they are placed in good hands.
A meeting for the distribution will be held at the Court House at 2 o’clock, Friday and it is hoped the boys will find good homes among our people who can make them useful.
F. W. Crane
