Celebrate Their Golden Wedding

The celebration of a Solemn High Mass this morning at St. Mary’s church at 8 o’clock was the beginning of the most wonderful day in the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Norton, 322 Fourteenth Avenue, who are celebrating the 50th year of their wedded lives. Monsignor E. J. McLaughlin celebrated the Mass and gave a congratulatory talk to the happy couple and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Norton were married in County Cork, Ireland, February 17, 1870, and came to Delmar three years afterwards, remaining there for eight years when they came to this city where they have since resided, their kindly dispositions gathering around them a circle of friends who hold them in the deepest respect. Nine children were born to them, John and William passing away a few years ago, and seven children with them on this happy day. Mrs. Edward Maskel of Streator, Ill., and her two sons, James and Edmund, Mrs. John Fitzgerald, Mrs. Agnes Robb of this city, Mrs. H. A. Sino of Lyons, Edward, Catherine and James at home.
