Coroner's Inquest-Abraham Ast

A counsel of physicians consisting of Coroner Dr. Loose, Drs. Bowen and Knittle, made a post mortem examination for the purpose of ascertaining the cause of death of Abraham Ast. It was found that there was an adhesion of the right lung to the pericardium and with other evidence the jury composed of R. L. Blesh, G. H. Kimball and M. N. Trumbo rendered a verdict "that Abraham Ast came to his death at his home in Maquoketa at about 5 o'clock a.m., April 19, 1885; that his death was caused by paralysis of the heart."
