A Home-Coming Letter.
Des Moines, May 1, 1907.

Mr. James W. Ellis, Chairman, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Dear Sir: In response to your kind communication of recent date, I beg leave to say that we shall deem it a great pleasure to join the home-gathering throng at Maquoketa, the first week of the coming September. Though born in Brown county, Ohio, in 1840, Maquoketa was my home town from the spring of 1840 up to May, 1870. And very pleasant are the memories of the years spent there and of the people who resided in the town and surrounding country. Hope your committee may meet with marked success along all lines of its endeavor to make the celebration a noted one. With many thanks for your cordial invitation, I am.

Sincerely yours,
W. H. H. BROWN.

Note – Mr. Brown is the father of Norris Brown, former Maquoketa resident, recently elected United States Senator from Nebraska.
