ARMED FORCES NEWS

WOUNDED IN ACTION

Mrs. Russell Hayward has received word that her brother, Pfc. August Krumviede, of Green Island, has been wounded in action in Germany and is hospitalized in England.

Pfc. William Hammer, of Maquoketa, who was wounded in action November 30, in Germany, has been awarded the Purple Heart. He is hospitalized in England.

MISSING IN ACTION

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jackson, of Bellevue, have received a telegram from the War Department informing them that their son, T/5 Orville Jackson, has been reported as missing in action in France since December 1st. He entered military service in December, 1942.
