The Northwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 85 North, Range 3 East of the 5th P. M. and other premises in the Southwest Quarter, containing 240 acres.

Recites that the conyeyance is made pursuant to a sale of said premises held on December 11, 1877, by virtue of an order of the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Iowa, dated October 13, 1877, in an action brought by Adaline Miller for admeasurement of dower in said lands.
Black’s Law Dictionary: Admeasurement of dower is a proceeding enabling a widow to compel assignment of dower, one-third of the value of the real estate.
