A CARD

The citizens of Charleston, Jackson county, return their most sincere thanks to their much esteemed citizen and friend, James F. Hunter, for the splendid liberality which he manifested in giving a splendid Ball at the Iowa Exchange, on the evening of the eighth, which was attended by upwards of fifty couples, and was altogether the most brilliant affair of which this section of country can boast. The attention of our worthy host, Oliver A. Crary, Esq., were unremitting, and deserve, as he receives, much credit.
Charleston, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1842.

(Sabula was known as Charleston prior to 1846)
