With a slight addition to our caption, we this week present the Press to our patrons in somewhat modified position. We have long entertained the notion that the ultra party spirit that has characterized the county press generally, is anything but desirable and operated greatly to neutralize its legitimate influence and usefulness. An entirely independent journal communicating with perfect freedom upon acts of all parties and public individuals, we believe to be adapted to the wants of the times.
(Name changed from The Jackson Press, a Whig newspaper to The Jackson County Press, an independent newspaper.)
