Newberry Will Case-

The Preston Advertiser says, and we presume it speaks truly, that “In the great Newberry will case of Chicago, in which there has been in controversy, more than six million dollars, Judge Williams decided in favor of the heirs, or in otherwards in favor of an immediate division of the estate; one-half of which goes to the city of Chicago for the purpose of founding a public library, the balance to be divided between the fortunate heirs. Walter C. Newberry, who commenced and has successfully fought and won the suit, comes into possession of more than three hundred thousand dollars. Not a bad sum for these hard times. Mr. Newberry is a brother-in-law to Emory and Z. DeGroat, of this township, and is expected to make some part of Jackson County his future home."
