Suspicious death near Bellevue-

It is reported from Washington township, this county, that on Thursday last, a man named O’Leary, returning from Bellevue, was found in the road with his throat cut from ear to ear, and in a dying condition. It is generally asserted that he had committed the deed himself, but there were also strong suspicions of foul play. This O’Leary is the man who had his wife here before a commission last Spring, on a charge of insanity, but failed to make out a case. In fact, his marital relations, from all accounts, have been none of the pleasantest, hence the suspicion, we presume. If the matter is as reported to us, there should be a thorough and searching investigation of the facts. Men’s lives are being held at altogether too cheap a rate since the abolition of capital punishment in this state.
