Grand Army of the Republic Camp Fire

Miles, Iowa, March 13, 1890

At the G. A. R. camp fire held at Heynan’s Hall, Miles, Iowa, many interesting speeches were made and many war stories related that were very amusing. Justin Miles’ description of what kind of man it took to be a cavalry man, created the broadest smiles of anything said during the evening. Comrade Sizer and Von Oven’s speeches were highly interesting. Rev. Mr. Bernard delivered a very able address for the boys in blue.
