Maquoketa Excelsior, October 22, 1881.

John Davis, a farmer living near Green Island, a brother of H. J. and Chas. Davis of Miles, accidently shot himself in the groin with a revolver last Saturday. The wound is dangerous, but there is hope of recovery.
