Celebrate Golden Wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper, Sr., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Friday at their home on West Platt Street.

They were united in marriage on August 30, 1868, at the bride’s home at Maple Grove, Iowa.

For thirteen years after their marriage they followed the occupation of farming, first living in Clinton County and later on a farm north of Maquoketa. For the past thirty-seven years they have been residents of this city where they are honored and respected by all.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooper are the parents of four children: George Cooper, Jr., Mrs. H. E. King of Chicago, Frank Cooper of Denver, Colorado and Mrs. George Brown of Maquoketa.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry King and daughter, Ruth and Mrs. Glenn King and son Boyd of Chicago were here to attend the celebration.

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Cooper hope that they may live to enjoy many more pleasant anniversaries.
