Commitment to County Asylum

Sheriff Davis took Stephen Nerbel before the commissioners of insanity last week. They pronounced him an imbecile and he was sent to the county asylum. Stephen is a native of Germany and this is only one among thousands of such instances where the paupers, criminals, idiots and other vile productions of Europe are shipped over here for the people of this country to take care of. Not long since the town council of one of the towns of Switzerland paid the package of and shipped over to this country a lot of vile women as to get rid of them. The authorities in New York got wind of the matter and they were not welcomed to our “hospitable shores,” but were ordered to be taken back from whence they came. Our Government should see to it that Europe does not continue to unload her cargoes of human rubbish upon our shores.
