Ex-mayor, S. L. BAKER, of this city, now of White Lake, Dakota, has been elected a member of the Constitutional Convention which convenes at Huron, on next Tuesday, June 19th. It wouldn’t surprise us much if Mr. Baker should be elected the first governor of the new state of Dakota. He is a brilliant, witty, dashing fellow.

We also notice that S. L., has set on foot a red hot county-seat fight in his county, and leads off with a $1,000 donation for a court house at White Lake.
