CATHOLIC CHURCH PROGRESS
On Sabbath next there will be a large assembly of people at Otter Creek to witness the laying of the cornerstone of the new St. Lawrence church. The Rt. Rev. Bishop Hennessy, the Vicar General Father Ryan, and a number of priests will be in attendance. The ceremony will take place at half-past 10 o’clock in the morning.
On the same day the fine new frame Catholic church at Delmar will be dedicated by Rev, Father Treil, of Dubuque. This church will be built at a cost of $3,000 and to the untiring effort of the Rev. Father Tracy, of Maquoketa, the success of this enterprise is largely attributed. The occasion will be one of much interest to the people of Delmar.
