Meets With Serious Accident.
Mrs. Harry Joiner Badly Hurt While Canning Fruit at her Home. Arteries in Wrist Cut.

While engaged in canning fruit yesterday forenoon, Mrs. Harry Joiner, residing on West Pleasant street, met with a serious accident and one which almost proved fatal.

The fruit was in the glass jar and while tightening the cover the jar broke and the glass cut deep into her wrist, severing all of the arteries of the arm.

Mrs. Joiner went immediately to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Charlotte Joiner, who is her nearest neighbor and medical aid was hastily summoned.

It was an hour or more before the flow of blood from the arteries was stopped and Mrs. Joiner was in a very weakened condition.
