-Hon. W. B. Allison of Dubuque, United States Senator elect, spoke in Schrader’s Hall on Thursday evening last. The Hall was crowded with our most intelligent citizens, who listened respectfully and attentively to the speaker. Mr. Allison though not an eloquent man or a very fluent speaker, has lots of sound common sense and is a good reasoner. His address was full of good honest facts and sound Republican doctrines, hence was acceptable to the staunch Republicans of this vicinity. Mr. Allison is doing a good work and if our friends will heed the advice he gave, there is no doubt of carrying everything before us in November.
