Sabula Gazette, January 29, 1876.

Next Monday evening, Special Deputy Grand Master Workman W. F. Haywood of Lyons, will organize a Lodge of the Ancient Order of United Workmen in Sabula, a sufficient number of persons to procure a charter having signified an intention to join the order. Last Monday evening Dr. Fairbank, the examining physician, subjected several candidates for admission to the rigid examination required, Mr. Haywood was present, remarking when the inspection was concluded that he never saw a sounder lot of men in wind and limb.
