JOHN E. GOODENOW and TROUT & MUNGER are about to put up a brick block on the Goodenow hotel corner. John E. has already let the contract for the cellar of his building, which is to occupy the twenty feet hitherto unoccupied on the corner of Main and Platt. Trout & Munger will build on the lot next south, at present occupied by a portion of the old hotel block, the walls of which will be used in the new building as far as possible.

John E. Goodenow's new building on the corner of East Platt and Main Streets, is going up like magic. By Saturday night John Zitterell will have the mason work almost completed, if not altogether, and next week will abdicate in favor of the bricklayers. Trout & Munger will begin operations on theirs in a very few days. That corner will soon present an entirely different aspect.
