POPULATION OF TOWNS IN JACKSON COUNTY. – A table has just been issued from the office of the Secretary of State, showing the number of houses and population of the various incorporated towns in the State. We glean from this table that there is a total of seventy-nine incorporated towns and cities, ranging in population from 218 to 19,882; the smallest being the village of Drakeville, in Davis county, and the city of Davenport being the largest. Bellevue is put down in this table as having 274 houses, 1,539 population, 3 colored, 338 voters, and 235 militia.

Maquoketa 278 houses, 1,344 population, 4 colored, 277 voters, and 198 militia.

Sabula, 189 houses, 816 population, no colored, 170 voters, and 142 militia.

Andrew, 75 houses, 356 population, 1 colored (Don Caesar), 78 voters, and 69 militia.

DeWitt has a population of 1,821, Anamosa 1,865, and Monticello 1,273.

Another year will make a vast difference in the population of Maquoketa. We shall then be by far the largest town in the county.
