The City Election on Monday passed off quietly enough. For the successful candidates very little work was done, but their opponents worked furtively for their defeat. The "Ring" over the way, as usual resorted to all sorts of falsehood of the Sentinel clique, a little "Tammany Ring," which seeks to rule or ruin our city, and on Monday repudiated the entire organization. The Boss, the Railroad King, young A. T. Stewart, the ignoramus, and others, having taken part in the Republican Caucas, went over to the enemy, and worked all day against the men they helped to nominate. They will be remembered in the great hereafter, and rewarded according to their works.
