For real estate described as :
The North East quarter of the South East quarter of Section Twenty Nine, the South West quarter of North West quarter and the West half of the South West quarter of Section Twenty Eight, in Township Eighty four North, of Range five, East, in the District of Lands subject to sale at Dubuque, Iowa, containing One Hundred and Sixty acres.

This is the present day City of Preston.

The Patent is a document of conveyance from the government similar to a deed, which is a private conveyance. This Patent was recorded in Book 51, Page 40, Office of the Recorder of Jackson County.
