Maquoketa Record, October 31, 1906:
Michael T. Kennedy of Scott County, Socialist candidate for Congress, 2nd Congressional District of Iowa, spoke at the city hall Monday night, to a large audience at Fulton, Tuesday night, which he held for three hours, answering the questions of the audience for an hour and a half to their complete satisfaction. He showed that the Socialists have the only practical solution of present industrials evils, and that the old parties have no remedy worthy of consideration; that both are financed by the trusts, and that no person can reasonably expect any relief as long as they are in power. Mr. Kennedy speaks again tonight at Iron Hill, Thursday night at Emeline, Friday at Canton, Saturday night at Nashville, and Sunday again in Maquoketa.
