PRETTY WEDDING AT THE REFORMED CHURCH MANSE
At the Reformed church parsonage Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. Miss Nora Elizabeth Bliss and Oscar Jacob Beck were united in marriage by the Rev. D. F. Boomershine, using the double ring ceremony. Cyril Beck, brother of the groom and Pauline Eads stood up with them.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Luther E. and Amelia Bliss, and a graduate of the Maquoketa schools in the class of 1928. Since that time she has been employed in the office of the Brady Electric company. The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Beck, a thrifty young man, who has chosen farming and stock raising as a vocation.
The bride wore a gown of beige flat crepe, white net and georgette trimmings and carried a bouquet of pink roses, white fresia, baby breath and ferns. The groom wore a suit of oxford grey.
After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to nineteen of the wedding guests at the home of the bride's mother, 209 N. Matteson avenue. A large white paper bell was suspended from the ceiling above the dining table, and was connected with festoons of crepe paper from the four corners of the room.
After a short visit in Clinton and Davenport the couple will locate on the Beck homestead, four and one half miles east of Maquoketa. The best wishes of their many friends accompany them to their new home.
