AGED MAQUOKETA RESIDENT CLAIMED BY DEATH ANGEL

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Eliza Davenport, who passed away Wednesday night, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, Rev. H. H. Dill officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Eliza Foreman, daughter of James and Mary Ann Foreman, was born March 14, 1844, at Frankfort, N. Y., and died January 7, 1931, aged 86 years, 9 months and 23 days. She was the oldest of nine children, six daughters and 3 sons, all of whom are dead except her youngest sister, Mrs. Sara Marquette of Lynn Haven, Fla.
She was united in marriage to Lucius Davenport, October 23, 1862, at Lena, Ill. Her husband preceded her in death February 11, 1905. To this union were born four children, two sons, Robert A., and H. Eugene Davenport, both of Maquoketa, Iowa; and two daughters, Mrs. Hattie M. Bolt and Mrs. Edna E. Owen, both of Peoria, Ill. All of whom survive her. She leaves 14 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She has one cousin, Mrs. Lizzie Benadom of this city,
She is truly one of the pioneers of this city, coming here 60 years ago, and living here continuously ever since.
