Pictured above are Mr. and Mrs. Ara J. Bowman of Maquoketa, who observed their golden wedding anniversary Monday, Sept. 6, at a party held in the American Legion hall, Maquoketak at 8 p.m.. The couple has resided in Maquoketa since marriage. They have six daughters and three sons. The children are Earl, Francis and Arthur, all of Maquoketa; Mrs. Marjorie Riggs, Mrs. Blanche Wendel, Eva Bowman and Mrs. Carl Hoerschelman, all of Maquoketa; Mrs. Florence Wasoba of Baldwin, and Mrs. Eleanor Berryhill of Iowa
City. The couple also has 12 grandchildren.
