Mrs. Dickman Accidentally Suffocates Babe 1879

The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 31, 1879

Mrs. Dickman, of Sabula, took her babe, three months old, with her to a surprise party last Friday evening. In the endeavor to keep the child warm while in the sleigh, the mother had suffocated it. The death of the babe was not discovered until the parties in the cutter attempted to get out of the destination. To one person at least it was mournful surprise.
