Rev. Joseph J. Donahue Ordained

The Rev. Joseph J. Donahue, of Zwingle, who was ordained Saturday at Rochester, Minnesota, will sing his first solemn high mass at 10 a,m, Sunday in Assumption Church, Sylvia Switch. Father Donahue is the first son in the 100 year old history of St. Theresa parish and its outmission, Assumption church to be ordained a priest. He was ordained by the Most Rev. Leo Binz, bishop of Winona, Minnesota, to serve in the Winona diocese.

The new priest is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Donahue, of Zwingle, and attended school at Zwingle, LaMotte, Loras College, St. John's Seminary of Collegeville, Minnesota and St. Thomas Seminary of Denver, Colorado.

The Rev. Elmer Becker, pastor of St. Theresa and Assumption churches will be assistant priest at the mass. Other officers will be the Rev. C. A. Neuses, of St. Joseph's Mercy hospital, Waverly, Iowa, Deacon; the Rev. L. C. Slovik of Waupeton, S. D., subdeacon; and the Rev. Peter Gross, of St. Thomas Seminary, Denver, master of ceremonies. The Rev. Fidelis J. Kaufmann, of Loras College will preach the sermon. A dinner will be served immediately after the mass at St. Joseph's church hall, Key West, and a reception for Father Donahue will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the same place.
