Democratic candidate for Treasurer of Jackson County

Mr. Joseph Dostal, who was born and reared in the Second Ward, this city, and educated in our public schools, has been for years one of Maquoketa's foremost businessmen. Now in his 41st year and in the prime of life with excellent business qualifications he is not only an ideal candidate for the office of county treasurer, but would make a model effort to handle the public monies of this county. He closed out his large business last year and is therefore in position to give the office his undivided personal attention. Mr. Dostal is a man of family(wife and daughter) and being a lover of home, has a very nice homestead. He served the city well as councilman from his ward four years. He has alawys been a great booster of Maquoketa and gives freely of his time and money to help along all enterprises calculated to build up the city of his birth. Many citizens of Maquoketa, regardless of their politics will vote for Mr. Dostal as a recognition of his commendable public spirit and it is right that they should.
