J. C. Murray, who is opposing Mr. W. H. Palmer for his fourth term as county attorney, is a graduate of the Iowa State University of the class of 1884, since which time he has been in continuous practice in this county and is probably more widely know as an attorney and business man than any other member of the bar. As an adviser of the Board of Supervisors, Mr. Murray is eminently qualified to give the county an exceptional service not only because of his legal attainments, but having been extensively engaged in general business and being a man of affairs, he has had the experience to qualify him to advise others. His employment by the Board of Supervisors in matters and suits of importance during the past years has shown the confidence of the board in this regard. As a trial lawyer, the reputation of Mr. Murray in this and adjacent counties is and has been fully appreciated. An economical administration of the office of county attorney can only be secured where the officer is not only both a lawyer and business man, but where he is, as well, able to take care of the interests of the counties before the courts and juries. The county has needed and now needs such a man as this in the office of county attorney and that friends of Mr. Murray in urging his election, which they do without regard to politics feel justified in saying that this want has been long felt in Jackson County. It has been the custom of the Democratic Party to give an officer a second term, but it is both against the policy of both parties in this county to extend the support of the county to anyone for a fourth term. Voters of both parties, in supporting this custom at this time will not only secure the services of an able attorney, but will subserve the best interests of the county by voting for J. C. Murray for county attorney.
