GLENN H. SHERMAN
Glenn H. Sherman of Maquoketa was ordained an Elder at The Latter Day Saints Church at Fulton Sunday morning, July 26th by Elder Lyle Woodstock and assisted by Elder Clarence Bell. Elder Woodstock, of Moline, Illinois, is the District President of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elder Bell is of Clinton.
Elder Sherman has been serving the Fulton Congregation as pastor since last August when he succeeded the late A. W. Heide of Maquoketa. Previous to this Elder Sherman served as counselor to Elder Heide since his ordination to the office of Priest in 1945. The office of Priest is one of the offices of priesthood in the Latter Day Saints Church
Among those present from a distance were Elder Sherman's parents Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sherman, three brothers, Stuart, Clifford and Floyd, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Floyd Sherman, all of Clinton. A group of Zion's Leaguers from the Clinton Branch of the Latter Day Saints Church and a group from the local Zion's League of the Fulton Branch attended an afternoon get together at the Maquoketa Caves State Park, July 23rd.
