Book E, Page 624, Office of the Jackson County Recorder.I, Mary E. Chick, being first duly sworn on oath do depose and say as follows:
That I am now and for more than seventy five years, have been a resident of the Town of Green Island, Jackson County, Iowa; formerly known as Clarkstown, Jackson County, Iowa. That my maiden name was Mary E. McVey, and a daughter of one Robert McVey, who acquired title to Lot Number 31, in Clarkstown, Jackson County, Iowa, on March 8, 1884.
That my father Robert McVey, died in the year of 1911, A.D., leaving him surviving, a widow, Mary McVey, a son named William McVey, myself, Mary E. Chick, a daughter, Elizabeth McVey Schweikert, a daughter, and Anna McVey, a daughter.
That the son, William McVey, died in the year of 1921 A. D., a bachelor, and without issue.
That the widow, Mary McVey, died in the year of 1913, without ever having remarried.
That the daughter, Elizabeth McVey Schweikert, died in the year of 1928, leaving surviving her, a husband named Fred Schweikert and who died in the year of 1932 without ever having remarried, and two children, namely, a daughter named Cora Schweikert Burnett, who is still living at Green Island, Iowa; and who is a widow woman, and a son named Albert Schweikert, who died January 6, 1952, a resident of Hanover, Illinois, leaving him surviving a widow named Sylvia Schweikert, now living in Dubuque, Iowa, and a son named Robert Schweikert, aged 34 years and now living in Cleveland, Ohio. That the daughter Anna McVey, died June 7, 1955, without ever having married.
