Friends of Judge House Do Him Birthday Honor

As Judge A. J. House passed another of life’s milestones last Friday, the event was prettily marked by a copious shower of congratulations, tendered in person, by letter and by written message, coming from the four corners to do homage to “His Honor.”

The Scott County Bar Association, consisting of one hundred members, cast their tributes midst the petal so American Beauty roses, and addressed blossoms and all to the Judge’s home, where they formed beautiful decoration for the table at a six o’clock dinner, given Friday evening to a few intimate friends. Killarney roses, from his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Bailey of Cedar Falls, conveyed her love and congratulations to her father, while the other daughter, Mrs. W. E. Cowan, was present to express her well wishes, and who with her little daughter, served the excellent menu.

It was indeed a date that will ever be remembered by both Judge House and his estimable wife, whose esteem in the community was once again evidenced and now may be heard the expressions of hopes that there still remain years of happiness and health in the Judge’s home.
