W. C. Swigart, the senior member, has retired from the Sentinel firm, owing to failing health. Mr. Swigart has been in the newspaper business for more than a third of a century and has been much more successful than the average country publisher. We regret the necessity which caused his retirement from the field of Jackson county journalism and trust that his health may improve and his life be spared for many years yet. The new firm, Swigart Bros., who grew to manhood in the Sentinel office and to whose energies much of that paper’s present prosperity is due, also has the Excelsior’s most hearty good wishes.
