Jackson Sentinel
Centennial Edition, 1938

Arch Hamley, the artist, is a young man born and reared in this vicinity and is counted among the up-to-date business men of our city. After graduating with honors from the Maquoketa High School, he took up photography and for the past four years has given this business his undivided attention. By close application to his chose profession and the experience he has now obtained in the work, the Hamley Studio is enabled to produce some of the finest photos extant. Among the latest is the Aristo porcelain in square, oval and oblong designs. Also Sepia and water color portraits, the finest and most life like pictures that can be produced. Mr. Hamley is always prompt in retouching and finishing which is done in his own studio, and his prices are consistent and reasonable. Grouping of families or parties a specialty. Views of residences, public buildings, farms, country scenes, etc., given prompt attention.

In this connection the publishers of the Sentinel desire to acknowledge the assistance of Mr. Hamley in producing this souvenir edition. A large number of the portraits and views appearing herein are from photos produced by him, and while the letter-press print is never quite so good as the photo, it gives some idea of what the subject might be. We found him prompt, courteous and painstaking in his work, and can therefore cheerfully recommend Mr. Hamley to others.

The Hamley Studio is located on north Main street, four doors from the Jackson county Bank.
