Jackson Sentinel, May 5, 1910.

Charles W. Williams, formerly of Independence, the owner of Axtell, for whom he refused $105,000, and of Allerton, a world famed race horse; the man who built the kite shaped track at Independence, the Gedney Hotel and Opera House in that city, is now an evangelist and he is reported as being as enthusiastic in evangelical work as he was in horseracing and breeding. He and his son own and operate a 2,500 acre farm in Canada and are not driven to embrace the cause of Christ from any lack of this world’s goods.
