We see by our exchanges that Mr. D. W. Ellis, of Lyons, brother of our District Attorney, has received the appointment of Circuit Judge, in place of Judge Young, resigned. Mr. Ellis was the almost unanimous choice of the bar of Jackson and Clinton counties, which compose the District. He has been practicing law for years at Lyons, and is known as one of the best and soundest lawyers in this section, as well as a good man and citizen. We have no doubt but he will be an honor to the position to which he has been appointed.
