Krumviede, Alvin: Gas & Oil Jobber; born Miles, Iowa, March 6, 1896; son of Henry Krumviede-Alvina Krabbenhoft; education near Green Island; Preston High School; married Mabel Neiser, February 8, 1921, Maquoketa; daughter Vivian; 1910-15 worked on farm, Jackson County; 1915-17 employed by uncle in oil business & operated theater, Preston; 1919 employed in gas station; 1921- oil and gas jobber, Preston; during World War enlisted in US army May 1917, battery A 126th field artillery, Clinton, sent to Fort Dodge then Fort Logan H Root, Little Rock Arkansas then Camp Cody New Mexico, transferred school of fire, Fort Sill Oklahoma 1918, Camp Upton New York till September 1918, O/S France, transport Kashmir on which sailed collided with transport Otranto October 6, 1918 off Irish Coast, Otranto sank, discharged January 1919 Fort Des Moines; American Legion, comm. 1935; Izaak Walton; AF&AM; hobbies: fishing, horticulture, handmade bamboo fish poles; residence Gillete, Preston.
