Cundill, William: Photographer; born Welton, Iowa Sept. 27, 1855; son of William Cundill-Mary Pindar; educated Maquoketa High School 1874; married Ella Cassin Feb. 23, 1886; son Francis; daughters Elizabeth(Mrs.Bristol), Edna(Mrs. Joseph Coughlin), Charlotte(Mrs. Fred Myatt); 1874-1877 school teacher, Jackson and Clinton Counties; 1877-80 carpenter; 1880- owner and operator of photographic studio, Maquoketa, oldest active photographer in Iowa; Honorary Member of 24th Iowa Infantry assigned to Company K, Izaak Walton League, appointed by Dr. Preston Bradley, national president, Chicago, Illinois, as poet laureate; Knights of Pythias, Life Member, chair member, has filled every office; hobbies: collecting coins, writing verse; office and residence: Main & Pleasant Streets, Maquoketa.
