Dorothy Jeck Williams, age 83 of Middle Amana, died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Colonial Manor Care Center following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 23, 2007 Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana with Elder Harold Pitz and Fr. Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Middle Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Middle Amana Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Staff of Colonial Manor fund. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Susan Williams of West Amana and several cousins, including Fr. Edmond Dunn of Oxford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Peter C. Williams on February 9, 2001, a son Peter J. Williams on October 5, 1998, and a brother Ray Jeck.

Dorothy Jeck was born November 9, 1923 in Middle Amana, the daughter of Martin W. and Elsie Oehler Jeck. She received her education in the Amana schools and graduated from Amana High School. She was united in marriage to Peter C. Williams on October 9, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford, Iowa. Besides being a homemaker, Dorothy was employed at Amana Refrigeration, retiring in 1986. She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and mushroom hunting. She was a member of the Amana Church Society.
