Josephine Lane, 91, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, in Maplewood Manor, Keota, following an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, by Father Marty Goetz. Burial: Bethel Cemetery, east of Sigourney. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Courtier of Emerson; and two sons, James Lane of Sedalia, Mo., and Al Lane of Fairfield.

She was born April 4, 1914, in Millersburg, to Joseph and Elizabeth Shimmeck Sabatka. She married Maurice Lane on July 22, 1933, in South English. They lived all their married lives in the South English and Harper areas. She spent her married years as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Harold "Junior" Sabatka; an infant sister, Mary; and a brother, Louis Sabatka.

Memorial donations may be made to the activity department of Maplewood Manor.
