Dwaine John Peska was born August 1, 1947, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Albert and Hazel (See) Peska. He graduated from HLV High School. Dwaine enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War from 1967-1972. Dwaine was united in marriage to Carol Kay Slaymaker on March 9, 1968 in Ladora, Iowa. Dwaine worked at Amana Refrigeration for over 40 years; after his retirement he enjoyed working at Big G and visiting with customers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and carpentry. Dwaine was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved life-meeting people and making friendships. Dwaine died Sunday, October 26, 2025 at his home, at the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his wife, three children, Duane Peska of Grinnell, Neil Peska of Marion and Melissa Wright of Malcom; and two grandsons, Tanner and Tucker Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Dale, Dave, Delbert and Don.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Marengo. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
