Robert Wayne Brennan, the son of Ralph and Ruth (Starr) Brennan, was born on August 11, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957 and then enlisted with the United States Marine Corp. On September 6, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Carolyn Carver. To this union two children were born, Rick and Diane. Bob worked for a printing company before going out on his own in 1978. Bob never worked a day in his life because he loved his job so much. He owned and operated Brennan Printing for 26 years retiring in 2004 and over the years he was best known for printing cookbooks.

Bob had a great sense of humor and his biggest hobby was proving people wrong. He was an avid fisherman, loved doing woodworking, golfing and most recently watching Caitlyn Clark play for the Iowa Women’s Basketball team and the Indiana Fever. He took great pride of being a Boy Scout Leader making special bonds with several of his scouts that he still holds today. Bob stayed very active in Deep River where he served on city council, was the mayor for several terms and was a member of the Deep River Fire Department for many years. He played a major role in the early 1980’s raising money for the Deep River Community Center. Bob was a member of the Deep River Calvary Lutheran Church, Deep River Fire Department and the Morrison-Schrader American Legion Post No. 296 in Deep River. But the most important thing in Bob’s life is his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren along with attending all of their activities and was recently looking forward to this wrestling and basketball seasons.

His legacy will be honored by his wife, Carolyn Brennan of Deep River; his children, Rick (Karen) Brennan of Deep River and Diane Brennan of Deep River; his grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Plants of Deep River, Chris (Jamie) Brennan of Montezuma and his favorite grandchild, his dog Lucy; his six great grandchildren, Brody Chidester, Camryn Brennan, Brett Plants, Luke Brennan, Braxton Plants and Bo Plants along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Brennan; his sister, Pat Faas and a nephew, Douglas Carder.
