Duane Robert Konicek, 89 of Belle Plaine, IA passed away at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Duane was born August 14, 1935 in Clutier, IA the son of John R. and Rose (Stahr) Konicek. He grew up in Elberon before moving with his family to Belle Plaine, where graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Following school, he was drafted into the United States Army, which he served during the Korean Conflict. Following his service he moved home to Belle Plaine. On June 21, 1958 Duane married Marilyn Rae Busher at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. He worked at Amana Refrigeration until retirement.

Duane enjoyed wood working and squirrel hunting.

Duane is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; and siblings.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
