Richard “Rick” August Ringler, 71, of Ely, Passed away on June 5, 2024, in his home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at a later date in Roger’s Grove Cemetery near Ely.

Richard was born on December 28, 1952, in Iowa City, the son of Richard Dwight Margaret Carolyn (Burry) Ringler. Rick graduated from Iowa Valley High School in Marengo. He held several different factory jobs over the years, the last being at Midland Forge where he had a lot of great friends. Rick enjoyed fishing, watching the Yankees and Hawkeyes, listening to “his” music, and above all spending time with friends and family (and dogs Lollie and Charlie). There was never a person he wouldn’t have trouble sparking up a conversation with, especially his aunt Theresa.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Michelle England; children Jessica (Tyler) Russell, Jason Ringler; step-daughter Melissa (Brandon) Dressler; several grandchildren; sister Cheryl (Jim) Richardson; and several other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jen Maule, sister Pamela Stevens, and several other nephews and family members.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
