Veronica M. "Bonnie" (Clear) Prybil, 87, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in Windmill Manor Care Center, Coralville. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City. The Very Rev. Rudolph T. Juarez will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 228 E. Court St., Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m., parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary by the National Catholic Order of Foresters recited at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Bonnie's name.

Bonnie was born June 10, 1918, in Holbrook, Iowa, to William and Mary Jones Clear. Bonnie graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and taught school prior to marrying William Prybil on Dec. 25, 1947. She continued to teach for one more year then farmed with her husband in Scott Township for many years. Bonnie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar & Rosary Society.

She is survived by her two daughters, Wilma (Ken) Gillmore of Marion and Mary Ellen Prybil of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Kathryn Gillmore of Coralville; two sisters, Kathleen (Jack) Driscoll of Williamsburg and Billie (Vernon) Brogla of Oxford; and nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, John; and three sisters, Mary, Marguerite and Eileen.
