Randy J. Moessner unexpectedly left this world on April 24, 2024 at his home in Millersburg. Per his children’s wishes, Randy was cremated. At this date, no service is scheduled to take place.

Randy was born June 27, 1966. He was the youngest of four siblings born to Ralph and Loretta Moessner.

Randy was raised in Middle Amana. As a child he explored the small village and could often be found with the Alexander boys. He attended Amana Community Schools and graduated from Amana High School in 1985. During high school he enjoyed hanging out with friends, driving fast cars, playing his music loud and creating a bit of chaos. He could quite often be found in Mud Hog’s basement, throwing Frisbee with Denny in the Woolen Mill or Pharmacy parking lots or “scooping the loop.”

During his teenage years Randy began struggling with addiction and mental health issues and the consequences that come with them. He continued to battle this throughout the entirety of his life.

After high school Randy married Kelly Copp and they created three beautiful children. They resided in Marengo and later divorced.

Later, Randy married Heidi Buswell and Heidi became Step-Mom to his children. The couple resided in West Amana and also later divorced.

Randy first began working at Ralph’s Sanitation, the successful business created and grown by his father. When the business closed Randy worked for Manpower, Thermogas in Marengo, Amana Society Plumbing and Heating and various other businesses. He was skilled at driving truck, enjoyed working with hands and could fix almost anything.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Moessner; mother, Loretta Simpson; and stepfather, Carroll Simpson.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Brent) Mullin of Cedar Rapids; his son, Skyler Moessner of Marengo; and biological child, Star (Berstler) of Marengo; grandchildren Kimmie, Lex and Jasper Mullin and Skylajane Moessner.
