Norma Lee McKain was born January 9,1937, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Leland and Beatrice (Brantner) Hunter. She graduated from What Cheer High School. Norma was a waitress and a cook before she retired after 20 years from Williamsburg Manufacturing Plant. Norma married Donald Eugene McKain on July 13,1957 and together they proceeded to have 3 sons Steven Jay, Vincent Eugene and Michael Todd.

Norma loved to spend time in her yard and gardens, she would walk around looking at all the animals and birds enjoying the sunny days. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Norma was a great race car fan and loved to watch the cars go by. An avid reader who loved to get lost in a good book. She was a wonderful mother and a good friend.

Norma passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Compass Memorial Hospital at the age of 86 years.

Norma is survived by two sons, Steven Jay (Audrey) McKain of Amana and Vincent Eugene McKain of Conroy; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Amy, Tony, Danny, Becky, Hillary and April; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marylou (Norman) Zenor and Bonnie McKinney; and a brother Jerry Hunter.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Donald Eugene McKain and her son Michael Todd McKain.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023 at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday. Burial will be at the Indianapolis Cemetery near What Cheer. A General Memorial Fund has been established. Messages and Tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
